Clash of the Titans (2010)

Harpy Creature Head

A harpy creature head used in the production of the 2010 reboot of Clash of the Titans. Zeus (Liam Neeson), king of the Gods, is tricked into sending his downtrodden brother Hades (Ralph Fiennes) to Earth to make the mortals fearful of the Gods’ power – never reckoning on the intervention of demi-god Perseus (Sam Worthington) as he fights to save Andromeda (Alexa Davalos), princess of Argos. This creature was one of the legion of abominations sent by Hades to bring Argos to its knees as he releases the Kraken upon the beleaguered city. Returning on the winged horse Pegasus to try and save Andromeda, Perseus battled many of these creatures high above the city before vanquishing the Kraken, allowing Zeus to regain control of Olympus. The creators of the film used a blend of CGI and practical effects for the scenes as the harpies rampage through Argos, making the monsters appear as life-like as possible when seen on screen. The creature head features a thick silicone with sharp resin teeth with a themed display to display it as a “trophy”. The skin is finished with a dark grey pallor with intricate patterning to help make the flesh of the creatures incredibly life-like.
