A young woman travels to Texas to collect an inheritance; little does she know that an encounter with a chainsaw-wielding killer known as “Leatherface” is part of the reward. Along with being used by various characters in the film, this is Heather Miller’s (Alexandra Daddario) hero “S” necklace from the 2013 production Texas Chainsaw 3D. In the film Heather has a burn mark in the shape of this necklace but doesn’t realize that the “S” in the mark stands for “Sawyer” and that she is part of the family. This necklace is the key prop from which the story line is based and is constantly referenced and seen throughout the film. After the original film ends the town members torch the Sawyer house and shortly after find one of the Sawyer women holding a baby. While the mother is wearing the necklace, the baby being held has the symbol of the necklace burnt onto her skin due to the fire. Once Heather is grown and her grandmother passes away, she is told that the estate has been left to her along with a letter that she never opens. Upon entering the house they find that one of the relatives, “Leatherface” is still alive in the basement and begins to take revenge. After seeing the mark on Heather and realizing she is part of the Sawyer family he decides to let her live making this the key prop of the film.
