Small Soldiers

Gwendy Doll Puppet (Tied Head)

The Commando Elite, aware of Alan Abernathy’s (Gregory Smith) interest in Christy Fimple (Kirsten Dunst) upon intercepting a phone call occurring between them, invade the Fimples’ house. They drug Christy’s parents with sleeping pills, place her brother Timmy captive in a closet, and turn Christy’s collection of Gwendy dolls into auxiliaries of war. (Universal, 1998) This is a screenused animatronic Gwendy doll puppet used in the 1998 film Small Soldiers, and constructed of resin with silicone heads over aluminum and steel and armatures. Also from the rear of the puppet the animatronic wires still remain that were used to control the puppet on screen. In the film they appear in a post-warfare state with various battle gashes repaired with staples, riveted bars, areas of burned and singed skin, etc. These dolls were made for the film and obtained from the talented studio of Stan Winston. Along with a Hollywood History COA a copy of the original studio paperwork will also be provided.
