Mr.Bill Puppet

Mr. Bill’s Summer Adventures

Mr. Bill Puppet

An original 2001 clay puppet of the danger-prone Mr. Bill, a character created by Walter Williams who originally premiered on Saturday Night Live in 1976.  Williams was instrumental in the SNL video shorts from the earliest days of the long-running series. The perennially bullied Mr. Bill became so popular that Ramada Hotels licensed the use of these characters for their Summer Adventures ad campaign in 2001, with Williams creating the puppets and providing his voice talents. This specific puppet was used in the 2001 Ramada Hotels ad campaign entitled, “Mr. Bill’s Summer Adventures,” and later gifted by Williams to then Ramada President and CEO, Steve Belmonte with a hand-written note thanking Steve from Mr. Bill.
