With the help of three fans, Kermit the frog must reunite the Muppets to save their old theater from a greedy oil tycoon. The Muppets are a group of puppet characters known for an absurdist, burlesque and self-referential style of variety-sketch comedy. Created in 1955 Jim Henson once stated that the term “Muppet” had been created as a portmanteau of the words “marionette” and “puppet”, but also claimed that it was actually a word he had coined. Kermit the Frog, arguably Jim Henson’s most famous Muppet creation, was the star and host of The Muppet Show, played a significant role on Sesame Street, and served as the logo of The Jim Henson Company. He continues to star in the Muppet movies, makes numerous TV appearances and Kermit was also reunited with Steve Whitmore for a short period of time puppeting this Kermit Muppet and showing me all the “tells” of the Muppet while being in awe to see his best friend once again. While puppeting him, Steve told us this Kermit was the first one he had puppeted in years. On November 14 2002 after a long wait Kermit was finally awarded a well deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
