I, Robot

NS5 Facial Appliance

An NS5 facial appliance used in the Will Smith futuristic action movie I, Robot. This and others like it were used in the scene at the beginning of the movie when Det. Spooner (Will Smith) goes to investigate the apparent suicide of his friend Dr. Alfred Lanning, and is in Lanning’s workshop as part of the NS5 spares. The human-like face is made from translucent acrylic which has been covered in a yellow varnish, with some very minor scuffs and chips. This lifelike piece measures 10” tall and is an instantly recognisable piece from the movie. Along with a Hollywood History COA the appliance comes with a lighted display featuring the movie’s logo also lighting the facial appliance as seen in the film.
