On the outskirts of Whoville lives a green, revenge-seeking Grinch who plans to ruin Christmas for all of the citizens of the town. This is Grinch’s (Jim Carrey) test Santa hat from Ron Howard’s family comedy, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”. The Grinch wears his hat when he robs the Whos on Christmas Eve. This piece was created during pre-production when designing the look of the Grinch’s yuletide disguise. The hat is made from a red terry cloth material with white fur around the trim and at the end of the hat’s long pom pom. The hat trim shows some signs of wear and discoloration from storage and age, but the hat remains in good overall condition.
