With the help of three fans, Kermit the frog must reunite the Muppets to save their old theater from a greedy oil tycoon. Created in 1955 Jim Henson once stated that the term “Muppet” had been created as a portmanteau of the words “marionette” and “puppet”, but also claimed that it was actually a word he had coined. Fozzie Bear is The Muppet Show’s resident comedian. He’s an orange-brown, fuzzy Muppet bear who tells bad jokes, usually punctuated with his catchphrase laugh, “Wocka wocka wocka!” Fozzie’s best friend is Kermit the Frog, although they occasionally have differences of opinion. Gonzo, also known as The Great Gonzo and Gonzo the Great, is a Muppet character known for his eccentric passion for stunt performance. Aside from his trademark enthusiasm for performance art, another defining trait of Gonzo is the ambiguity of his species, which has become a running gag in the franchise. Gonzo has been considered to be of various origins, including a Frackle, in his debut appearance on The Great Santa Claus Switch; extraterrestrial in Muppets from Space; or avian creature.
