Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant is the 2009 American film adaptation of the Vampire Blood trilogy of the book series The Saga of Darren Shan by author Darren Shan. In the film, Two teenagers unknowingly break a 100-year-old truce between two warring factions of vampires; vampires who do not harm their victims, and Vampaneze, who kill whomever they feed on. In the later part of the film Mr. Tiny (Michael Cerveris) makes contact with Steve Leonard (Josh Hutcherson) and entices him to join his Vampaneze by playing on his resentments and insecurities. Steve is turned into half-Vampaneze and then he and Murlough capture Darren Shan’s (Chris Massoglia) family. Darren then arrives home to find his family missing and a flier for Cirque du Freak. This is the exact hero flyer used in the scene when it shows it close-up. The word’s “SEE YOU AT THEATRE” was handwritten in marker and can be seen from the back from the ink bleeding through the flyer.
